Jennifer Wells was first introduced to yoga back in 2004, but it was not until early 2015 when she started regular practice in a studio setting, was she totally hooked. She began attending yoga classes several days a week, and the stress and anxiety that had somehow become a way of life, was now manageable. Never one to enjoy the “gym lifestyle” or “dance aerobics,” yoga was a perfect fit. The calming atmosphere of the softly lit studios were much more inviting than the fluorescent lights at the gym, and the mental benefits of deep breathing and turning off the “mind chatter” could not be matched. Wanting to find a way to give back to the yoga community, for all that it has given to her; she enrolled in
Zen Yoga Studio’s 200 hour teacher training, under the guidance of Linda Stevenson ERYT-500, and graduated in May 2017 with her 200 RYT certification. When not on her yoga mat, Jen works as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for the Neurosurgery department at Metro Health Medical Center. Being a healthcare provider specializing in critical care, she often finds herself part of the negative aspect of health, and too often, feels that she misses the opportunity to inspire her patients’ wellness. Her mission as a yoga teacher is to nurture and support the health of the human body, mind, and spirit of those around her, who are willing to give yoga a chance to change their life too.
